Julie sat on the edge of a pier. She was still adjusting to being a mermaid. She didn't mind it, perfect hair and stuff like that but she hated it. People were scared of her, her eyes were bright green and she had shark teeth. She used to have amazing powers and stuff like that until she fell in love. She wanted to scream into the sky. She hated herself for falling for a guy again. She wanted to cry to herself but most of all she just wanted to jump off the edge of the earth. People were scared of her just because of her teeth and eyes. Most of the hunters visited her but they didn't like it. Some told her that the others were scared she would rip their throats out. Some of the hunters still loved her though so that was good, she was not completely alone. Plus there was vinny she kept Julie company. So that was also something. She just wanted her old life back, but no matter how much she pleaded and begged. She would never get her old life back and that scared her.
Julie looked around and didn't see people so she took out her bag which she asked a Hecate camper put a spell on so it and anything in it never got wet. She took out her song book and a band tee from her human years. It was a suicide silence tee shirt. She put it on over her bathing suit top and smiled. She felt kinda normal for a little bit. She took out her song book and flipped to a song she liked. "never made this clear but
, I'm tired of waiting for the right moment to appear
, I built my life on something not so stable
, And I've been falling ever since I was able to stand
, They say it's harder on your own and you know it's true
, Now I'm ready to break through
, I've spent all these years of my life begging for a plan that never came
, So, I broke all the bones in my legs
, And taught myself to stand alone again to become a better man
, Because I hate who I was turning out to be
, But I'm sure that this will not be the end of my suffering." She kept singing till the song was over. That was one of her favorite songs. It was very nice and she could relate to it in a way. It was weird but she did not care.
Julie turned around to see a camper near her on the pier. She stuffed her song book in her bag, keeping her shirt on and jumping into the lake staying right by the pier, keeping her eyes and nose above the water. She was scared of the other campers not really but she was.
