The first thing Adrian saw that morning was the back of a young girl's head alongside him in the comfort of the blankets. She was fast asleep still and, he speculated, would stay that way until long after Adrian had left the cabin. He liked to think he had that effect on people. Wearing them out that much. The result of his ego. This time he remembered who she was, though thought her insignificant. She was a daughter of Aphrodite. They were often his targets, particularly the weak minded ones who would sleep with anything that moved. That itself was perfect for Adrian. It made them the perfect target. Of course, not all of them were airheads, but that was why Adrian always picked his prey carefully. There were things he looked out for, movements, tendencies, and above all - attractiveness. The shame was, a lot of the other more beautiful demigods would just turn him down. That didn't mean he lost heart in it, however. He was always determined and once he was fixed on a girl he wouldn't give up, no matter how many times they turned him down. It just meant he had to be more subtle. Either that or he had to use the girl in other ways, for instance a girl with useful powers could make for a good ally should he ever need it.
Adrian sat up and climbed out of bed. The girl rolled onto her back but didn't wake. He slipped into some clothes and left the cabin quietly. This seemed almost routine by now. It was a good thing the Hades cabin contained barely any demigods, it was nicely quiet and empty that way. Made power a little easier too. Slipping his hands into his pockets, Adrian started strolling through camp. It was a little too early to pick his new prey just yet, especially when the old one still hadn't left his bed. He would start that work at lunch at the very earliest today, or perhaps later, like four or five. Spend the evening with a girl, make her believe she's the gods' gift on earth, despite the fact that not once would he truly believe it to be true. In fact, he believed that position was held by him. Some girls would usually fall for it, anyway, and that was always fun to try. Just came to show how good a liar Adrian could really be. Of course, it also meant he was slowly creating a string of airhead girls who felt a little angry with him yet sometimes envious with his new targets. Nothing a little 'I'm sorry, I was stupid to ever have thought I could get by without you. You're so perfect and beautiful, my love,' wouldn't fix. Oh, this was the good life.
At first Adrian made his way to the dining pavilion for breakfast. He picked up a few things to eat and quietly sat down at the Hades table. For once he didn't attempt to break the rules so he could wander over to another table and flirt with a few girls at once, not that the rules ever restricted him in any way. Upon finishing his breakfast, his eyes did a sweeping glance across the room - precautionary, mostly - and then he left as quietly as he came. He headed to the lake then. The lake was a quiet place for him to just think. It was perhaps odd to think a big-headed, arrogant person like him would occasionally need a quiet space to think, but he enjoyed it. No one to bother him. Unless it was a beautiful girl, which was fortunate in that they often populated the waters of the beach, in spite of the small mermaid population in the waters of camp. Once he found a nice little spot in the beach, Adrian sat himself down and pulled off his shoes and socks. He looked out at the shore of the lake and watched people as they splashed around in the water, making the most of this horribly bright and sunny day.
