Personality
General personality:
-Courageous: Wendy always faces her challenges head on with little to no fear. She has a lot of experience from numerous Quests she has undertaken during her time in Camp Half Blood. She slowly grew to become more courageous through her experiences as camp molded her. She learned how to let go of her fear and focus single minded on a problem and harness her fear into a more worthwhile outlet: valour.
-Individualistic: Learning how to think for herself was probably one of the greatest lessons Wendy ever learned in her life. She spent most of her life surrounded by Gods, and her mindset warped towards their psyche. It was only in recent years that she broke free of this mindset and relies purely on her own instincts and thoughts to form her own opinions. She possesses a independent streak a mile wide which makes it difficult to ask for help when she needs it. Wendy likes trying to figure out a problem by herself before having to turn to someone else for help. As a result of this individualistic nature, she tends to judge people by their individual actions. Thankfully, this also makes Wendy very good at taking intuitive and doing things that need to be done without having to be asked.
-Scrupulous: Wendy is a very detail orientated person. She focuses really diligent when it comes to details and is always very precise about her wording when she talks. Her meticulous way of living can be irritating at times when its difficult for her to focus on the big picture.
-Deceptive: Wendy always holds her cards close to her chest. She is patient enough to keep her thoughts to herself and will keep people questioning about her motives. Secrets are Wendy's best friend and she harbors no guilt when it comes to deceiving others for her needs. She regularly lies and misleads people to her advantage and never gives the mortality of it all much thought.
-Impassive: Being apart of Camp Staff at Camp Half Blood means that Wendy has seen a thing or two. She certainly believes that she has seen everything the world has had to offer. Her impassive attitude also leaches the empathy from her making her a unmovable. Her apathy towards many situations she can get herself in gives Wendy a unique serene, calm disposition in most situations.
-Proud: Wendy is a fiercely proud person. She protects her identity as a demigod, a daughter of Eos with ferocity because it is the only thing left that really means something to her. She holds her honour in high regard and is quick to defend it with a sharp tongue or a sharper blade. After most of the demigods of her generation were killed off in various incidents, she clings to her identity as a demigod like a lifeline.
-Solemn: Once upon a time, Wendy was one of brightest, happiest girls in camp but a decade of violence has mellowed her considerably. Her sense of humor certainly leaves something to be desired because of how very morbid and dark her jokes can be. Wendy has very little patience for things like fun and can think of millions of other tasks she could be doing instead of goofing off. Such things she views as beneath her and turns her nose up at such behaviour.
-Amoral: Quite plainly, Wendy has no moral standing. She is very flexible when it comes to her own morals. Which mostly involves what's best for her interest at the moment in time and nothing much else. She constantly toes the line between moral and immoral like a careful balancing act. Wendy is restrained by very little obligation or standards that most people use and tends to use her own instincts and thoughts to dictate her actions.
-Callous: Wendy has developed a devil-may-care attitude towards life in general. She lost many of her friends growing up in Camp Half Blood and has become rather numb to the feeling of loss. The most common method of dealing with loss is repression for Wendy and has a very difficult time facing her negative feelings. This is where her calloused attitude comes from; Wendy thinks feeling nothing at all is much better than feeling anything.
-Cynical: Optimist is the very last word that can be used to describe Wendy. She is very pessimistic and generally expects the worst of the world. She has some trust issues. As a demigod who experienced all the ways life can go long, she if very wary and expecting the worst. The same goes for people; she always expects people to act as bad as she can imagine (which is pretty bad) and has lost all of her faith in the belief of "good" in people. Wendy is little miss negativity.
-Voluptuous: Along with Wendy's amoral aspect of her personality, she is very inclined to indulge in luxury when the opportunity presents itself. She has been known to indulge in her taste of men most frequently. Children of Eos are cured to fall in love multiple times, which Wendy has. Her love life can be described as "rocky" at the best of times. She isn't scared to get laird for the mere fact of being bored, or being in the mood. In fact, that would be on of the few times Wendy is actually straight forward when asking for something.
Likes: Getting up early, documentaries, paleontology, archery, jazz music, butterflies, being alone, and getting laid.
Dislikes: Zombie films, snails, eggs, not knowing something, failure, conformity, dealing with Gods and facing ex boyfriends.
Goals: Getting into a stable, normal relationship; to become an archaeologist.
Fears: Watching someone close to her die. Having to face her previous failures.
History
Claimed?: Yes
Camp experience: 11 years
Mortal parent: Joesph Griffin
Other relatives: None
History:
Joesph Griffin had just returned from his fourth and final military tour when he met Eos. He had gone to his local Veterans Affair office to adopt one of their trained service dogs when he came across the woman with sunlight for hair and rosy cheeks. The two were rather quickly smitten with each other and things moved quickly from there. It only took three weeks before Eos was pregnant with their daughter. Seph and Eos got married a week after the announcement in a very small-scale, spring wedding surrounded by Seph's family. The newlywed couple moved to a new, small town on the far East side of the country and began their life anew.
Wendy Griffin was born on a blistery November day into the loving arms of her Goddess mother and mortal father. Unlike most Gods, Eos stayed with Seph to help raise their daughter. She loved both her newest mortal lover and her demigod daughter and dedicated as much as her time as she could to both of them. Because of this, Wendy grew up with a very different upbringing than most demigods received. Eos taught her how to use her powers from a young age and used her abilities to keep the monsters away from her family. Even some of Eos' divine relatives were smitten with little Wendy. Her 'uncle' Boreas was especially fond of her and would bring his winter winds early to their town. He was also fond of bringing winter early for the areas she lived and making it snow on her birthday.
At the age of ten, Seph gently convinced Eos to send their daughter to Camp Half Blood for training. As much as Eos wanted to protect Wendy from everything she knew that task was impossible.
The daughter of Eos arrived at Camp Half Blood safely and without any help from a demigod or satyr. Under the protection of her mother, no monster dared to attack her and the moment she stepped into camp she was claimed. Life at Camp Half Blood was nothing like Wendy expected. As a daughter of Eos, she quickly made friends with plenty of demigods around her age and looked up to the experienced older demigods. In particular, a boy named Finnley mentored her in archery. The son of Apollo was easy friends with a daughter of Eos, because of how similar their divine parents were. The two trained together constantly until Wendy was as good as any child of Apollo with a bow.
When Wendy was twelve years old, Finnley chose her as one of the people to accompany him on a quest. The Quest was to hunt down and capture a rabid dog named Tyro, who was one of the hunting hounds who turned on and devoured Actaeon. The Goddess Artemis claimed that the hound stilled carried the bones of his former owner in his stomach along with his boastful spirit. Finnley and Wendy hunted the dog down to the deserts of Texas and spent an entire week playing cat-and-mouse with Tyro. During that time, Wendy admitted her feelings of love for Finnley and he returned the sentiment. Unfortunately, the very next day they had their confrontation with Tyro which ended very badly. Finnley was wounded by the dog before Wendy stuck an arrow through it's eye and killed it. The wounds were serious enough that the little nectar that they possessed did little to help. The two of them had to stumble back through the desert to Camp Half Blood. By the time they reached the Camp, Finnley was on death's doorstep. The other children of Apollo tried as they might to save him but Finnley eventually slipped away in his sleep.
Wendy was devastated by the loss of her best friend and first love, but Camp Half Blood has a way of forcing it's demigods to move forward; whether they want to or not. Her uncle, Boreas asked a favor of her. He had recently discovered the location of a precious necklace that had belonged to Helena of Troy and asked her to retrieve it for him so he could gift it to his wife, Oreithyia. Wendy quickly accepted and took off on the Quest by herself. She labored for three weeks to track down and find the necklace before returning back to Boreas. He was delighted at her success and invited Wendy to stay at his palace for the rest of the summer. She quickly agreed and spent a lovely summer in Quebec City.
The next several summers at Camp Half Blood just went down from there. Much like her mother, Wendy fell in and out of love with different demigods in camp. She had her heart broken more times then she could count and try as she might, she could never close her heart off completely. Eos tried her best to explain what it was like, falling in and out of love with mortals for centuries and her methods of dealing. She said that there was simply nothing for it. "You simply needed to love the person you were in love with to your fullest potential before moving on to the next person." Eos had learned long ago this lesson and Wendy had to learn the same lesson very quickly or it would destroy her poor demigod heart.
At the age of sixteen, Wendy meet a demigod new to camp by the name of Delilah. She was a small little thing, barely turned seven and was scared out of her mind after an encounter with a cyclops. Wendy took Delilah under her wing and helped her figure her way around camp. Half way through the summer, Delilah was claimed by the God Aeolus. Aeolus himself came to visit Delilah in camp and meet Wendy along the way. He instantly fell in love with the daughter of Eos and attempted to woo her on the spot. Wendy took the God up on his offer and spent the night with him. After wards, Delilah started to refer to Wendy's as her 'mom' despite the lack of blood relation. The rest of Wendy's summer was spent between splitting her time with Aeolus and Delilah.
The next year, Wendy wasn't even at camp a week before she was off on a solo quest. Her 'Aunt' Selene entrusted her with the task of retrieving her kidnapped lover, Endymion. Wendy tracked Endymion to Seattle where she found him wide awake and with Peitho, the Goddess of seduction. Wendy confronted the couple and appealed to Endymion's loyalty to Selene to convince him to go back to her. Endymion tried to leave Peitho, but the Goddess was furious and fought to keep him at her side. Endymion chose Wendy to fight as his champion in the name of the Goddess Selene and Peitho send Phobos, the personification of fear. Wendy literally had to fight fear itself in order to win Endymion back to Selene's side. In the end she did succeed -just barely- but was severely scarred by the experience. She returned to Selene with Endymion and the Goddess was so over joyed she named Wendy her champion for as long as she lived. As a reward, she gave Wendy a divine bow that originally belonged to the Huntress Atalanta.
During the winter solstice of the same year Wendy took a trip up to Quebec to witness a party between some minor Gods and Goddesses at her Uncle Boreas' palace. She was welcomed to the party by her Aunt Selene, Uncle Boreas and her mother Eos with open arms. None of them so much as blinked at the demigod being invited to the party. During this party, Wendy meet the God of festivities, Comus. She was quickly charmed by the God and the two of them spent the rest of their night together. Eos was the one to find her daughter the next morning with an amused, knowing look on her face.
Life continued on for the daughter of Eos. She became a regular bed mate of Comus and Aeolus when he was not busy with his weather. There was a visible split between herself and the other demigods at Camp Half Blood because of the amount of time she spent with Gods rather than mortals. Only Delilah really stayed at Wendy's side during this time of her life.
She forced to reconcile with the demigods when she was given another Quest, this time she was demanded to bring a team with her. A son of Hades, Benjamin and son of Iris, Noah both agreed to come with her to retrieve the ancient documentation of prophecies from Cassandra. The trio had to sail to a cluster of islands off the coast to where the God Apollo claimed the documents to be. The three demigods spent the night together and were woken suddenly when the ship they were sailing on was caught in a storm. The ship capsized and left the trio of demigods stuck on the nearby island where the documents were apparently held. Wendy woke on the beach of the island completely alone. She wandered the island for several hours collecting what she could salvage from the ship and other resources. Along the way Wendy ran into the residents of the island, the Sirens. They explained to her that the island was jealously protected by the Deities Ceto and Phorcys. Wendy played nice with the Sirens until they all fell asleep before escaping from their camp to find the other demigods she was with. She followed some foot trails through the jungles on the island to the mountains in the center of the island. Here she found a temple carved into the stone of the mountains where Ceto and Phorcys resided. Wendy sneaked into the temple in hopes of finding the documentation that they were looking for. Instead she found the half eaten body of Noah laying discarded carelessly in a side room. Wendy wept over his body for several minutes before carefully giving his body the proper demigod sent off. She staggered back out to the beaches of the island where she founded a deserted city to spend the night.
The following day she over heard the sirens speaking of some Treasury in the grotto in the cove. Wendy became one with her inner Lara Croft and raided the treasury for the documents. Luckily she did come across the ancient scrolls but was surprised to learn that they were actually written by Cassandra's brother, Helenus. Wendy carefully packed the scrolls away before returning to the surface. She returned to the abandoned city and found Benjamin wandering around with a woman and boy. The mother and son revealed themselves to be Leucothea and Palaemon, the God and Goddess of protection at sea. The two of them offered the pair of demigods a deal: if they could steal the colours of the famous ship "the Argo" back from Ceto they would give the demigods a safe return back to Camp Half Blood. Wendy and Benjamin quickly agreed. The two devised a plan that evening and sneaked into the temple under the disguise of night. Benjamin used his powers to scare the two Gods into chasing shadows around the temple. With them distracted, Ben and Wendy stole the flag from the place onto of the alter in the main room of the temple. Unfortunately Benjamin lost his life in the escape and used the last of his powers to teleport Wendy and the colours back to the abandoned city. Wendy returned the colours to Leucothea and Palaemon but didn't have much desire to leave the island any more. After Benjamin's sacrifice she barely had the will to continue going on. She was just so sick and tired of seeing all her lovers die or reject her.
Lost and on the edge of despair, Wendy wandered back to the sirens in hopes of a distraction. Instead she meet the Erotes; Eros, Anteros, Himeros, and Pothos. The four Gods of love and sexual desire lured Wendy better than any siren and she went with them with little protest. She spent an entire week being seduced and wooed by the Gods, more than willing to spend the rest of her life with the beautiful Gods. It was only when she went for a short walk for some water that she got some sense back. She received an Iris message from Delilah, checking with her how the Quest was going and Wendy nearly burst into tears all over again. She had been so close to giving up on her fellow demigods and giving up her life at camp but now she knew better. Wendy raced back to the Erotes and explained her situation to them and was surprised when the Gods just grinned at her in triumph and encouraged her to go back to camp. Not before offering up their services if she ever got bored again.
Wendy returned to camp with a new determination in her eyes. While most of the demigods she grew up with had all been killed off in some manner or another, she had survived against all odds. Wendy now serving as camp staff to the new demigod generation.
