Personality
General personality: Hazel is the sort of person that thrives in social settings. She communicates well with people and therefore is very amiable, getting along with the majority. She always seems to be happy and honest, and when it comes to training, she'll always take part. She takes particular pride in the bow, as it's something she took a liking to in the early days of camp and has been focusing her training on it since, thus, she is especially friendly with the children of Apollo and the hunters of Artemis, as she spends nearly as much time in the archery field as a good number of them, and thus had a good chance to communicate with them. So, she's a happy and bouncing person, lovely to be around and always seems to see the positive nature in anyone. She's the sort of person that would still see the good in someone, no matter how far to the dark side they've ventured.
On the other hand, Hazel tends to hide her negative emotions. Though people remark from time to time how weird it is that she's permanently happy, it's mainly because she doesn't let her unhappiness show. And even when she does, she goes somewhere quiet to hide it. She tries to keep a smile on her face as much as she can, and tries to always keep it that way. Smiles, she thinks, are contagious and so by remaining happy, that itself would keep other people happy. Only her brother really knows Hazel's tendencies in hiding her unhappiness, and thus he seems to be one of the only people able to tell when something is bothering her. She's had years of putting on a facade, and thus it's something she's used to and apparently does very well - unless someone has skills in being able to detect things like that, like her brother.
Likes: Brightly colored things; people; sociable events; friends; cute things; people who do randomly nice things; family; rainbows; dresses; water; beaches; helping out; (This is only to name a few, she likes a lot).
Dislikes: People who are rude to her or to anyone, really; people getting hurt; anyone who dismisses her feelings; anyone who disregards the importance of people's emotions or mentality;
Goals: Making people happy, and being the best person she can be. Not the best goals, but they're important to her. she'd also like to be cabin leader some day.
Fears: She's afraid of the dark. Not the dark as such, but the fact that it basically represents the unknown. Anything could happen in the dark. Including people getting attacked, and people getting hurt, or killed.

History: William Rhodes was an excellent artist. He was known for his magnificent oil paintings of the skies, particularly when rainbows were in view. His work was often so beautiful that it featured regularly in national art galleries. On occasion, his work even appeared in art galleries elsewhere in the world. It was his clever use of colors that fascinated people so much in his work. On top of that, he was an attractive man, and with the money gained from the paintings (which fortunately for him, was a lot he had a fair amount of women, and even men, trying to get his attention. Often people were curious as to whether his skills stretched out to portraits, though he refused to draw anything but the beauty he could see in the skies.
One day, however, when painting a sky scene in the countryside, he was approached by a beautiful woman. It was rare, seeing so much beauty in a woman. There was something about her which appeared similar to the beauty of the rainbows, for instance, and so when she asked about his work, his words were kind and polite, so not as to frighten away this marvel of nature. From that moment, there was a spark between the two. The woman would join him whenever he ventured to the countryside to continue his work, at least until one day when she actually went back to his home with him. By the end of the night, the two were in bed with each other. Though after that, much to William's despair, they never saw each other again.
William tried to forget. He tried to carry on with his life, though a month or so after she had left him, the excellence of his work decreased just a little. Nevertheless, he was soon able to get himself back on his feet. Realizing the beauty of love, and that which he had lost, he had, before long, found another woman - her name was Poppy. Though perhaps not matching the beauty of his first love, she came close. Her hair was golden and like silk, her eyes like shining emeralds. She was beautiful.
When it came to nine months after the departure of his first love, two cradles appeared on the doorstep of the Rhodes house. By these time, William and Poppy were married and admittedly, already trying for children. Their relationship had progressed quickly, as they were deeply in love. It was Poppy who found the cradles. Of course, she was surprised to find one, let alone the two. In one of them lay a note which Poppy slipped into her pocket as she called for William's attention. When he came to the door, of course surprised as well, the two carried the cradles indoors and sat down - upon doing so, she handed William the note and he began to read. It entailed an explanation of the situation. His first love had fallen pregnant upon their night together, though she was in a difficult situation and therefore could not look after the twins herself, thus, she requested that William take care of the two. Poppy happily accepted. She was a charitable person and kindhearted, she cared not for the fact that these babies were biologically another woman's, just that she could raise them with the man she loved, and that was all that mattered. Upon Poppy's joy, William seemed happy too, and the two took the twins in to raise as their own.
The two were raised normally. Though William wasn't exactly the best father he could have been. For instance, though Harry seemed an excellent artist, perhaps even better than their father, Hazel struggled to even draw a mere stick man. This seemed to stress William out, and though Poppy would often remind him to calm down, it would always end up with Hazel getting upset and William quickly dismissing her emotions.
Over time, Hazel managed to put on a facade when it came to negative emotions. When she was happy, her father wouldn't so quickly dismiss how she felt. When she was happy, her stick men were just a little better than they could have been. Her brother, on the other hand, seemed to act more freely to how he felt. Though he cared a lot for his sister and would often reassure her that her emotions were important, which was often responded to with a quick denial, he relished in the love his father gave him. The support he received for his artwork and his respective excellence in the field.
One night, however, when the family was on their way back from a walk in the countryside, they were mugged whilst in town. Sure, it sounds like the start of Batman but it didn't exactly end the same way. The parents were killed in the mugging and the children left be. The children ran home, though on their way they were intercepted by a guy, that was about two years older than them, fifteen or so? The fact that he was half ghoat, and this they were sure of, confused them greatly. He explained what he was, that he was a satyr, and then where he needed to take them. It was a place called "Camp Half Blood", and he marveled on his good timing considering their parents had just been killed. Of course, this was received by curses and harsh remarks from the one child, though Hazel stayed quiet, wishing to say nothing that may be dismissed as stupidity. The children, however, felt like they had nothing to lose and so followed the satyr to Camp Half Blood.
Upon arrival, it wasn't long until they were both claimed by Iris. They were moved into the Iris cabin, and they've been comfortable at camp since. Hazel, for one, has particularly thrived in the social setting that is Camp Half Blood. She enjoyed the large amounts of people there that were her age, though she still compulsively felt the need to make them happy and tried to never show any negative emotions. She continued in her old ways. A leopard never changes its spots.
