Full name: Gwendolyn Linnea Pearce

Personality
Gwendolyn has always distanced herself from those around her due to her insecurities about herself. From a young age she was able to excel in her classes and this seemed to infuriate the other children so it was only logical to avoid making friends and shove her nose in a book. After a while, she simply stopped caring about what other people thought of her quiet nature and forced herself not to care. Because of this she is someone that usually tries to avoid interaction with other human beings by all means possible, lest they're someone she feels she can talk to.
Being so distanced from her own emotions has made her insensitive to the feelings of other people. She doesn't like to hear sob stories from those that lost a parent or something; she would rather vomit. Her insensitivity usually shoves people away, to which she simply says, "Good riddance."
The real kicker to Gwendolyn is her serious attitude. It's rare that she will laugh or even crack a smile at anything that isn't loaded with dry humor. What she says goes, and she always keeps her word. She is definitely a trustworthy individual, though it may take a lot of time to actually realize this once you've interacted with her. Because she so enjoys the dry humor, her own sense of it is also very dry. She tends to be sarcastic and usually comes off as being extremely rude.
With her sarcasm comes her intelligence. She's been reading all kinds of books since a young age and was always placed at the top of her classes. Though she isn't one to boast about her intelligence, her superior-to-thou attitude that has developed from being an older camper tends to show itself when she speaks to anyone who is a newcomer. She will treat and eleven year old the same as an ignorant eighteen year old, that's for sure. She is not a very discriminative person, as she tries to distribute her dislike for people evenly among all.
Once she sets her mind to something, Gwendolyn strives to accomplish any and all goals she may have. She loves to prove people wrong about her, though if its anything emotional she continues not to care. Her determination has made her into a very brave and valiant soul that would run head first into danger, provided that's part of the plan. She hates going into anything without having all of her calculations set up correctly, so that usually ends up being a problem.
Though she is usually one to go by the book instead of improvise, Gwenny can be quite creative in her planning. With her trained eyes she can spot things that some might not think to be an asset. She's good at scouting out areas and planning and refuses to do anything unless she can be assured that all of the information on everything was successfully gathered beforehand. This can make her seem like a coward, but she would not hesitate to lay down her life for a plan. Mission abort doesn't fly.
Likes:
Coffee, warm sweaters, books, hair buns, messy hair, not caring about what she looks like, skinny jeans, combat boots, athletics, riding pegasi, the board game RISK, war strategizing, and being detail oriented.
Dislikes:
Tea, insolent subordinates, feeling obliged to go out of her way and help someone, dull moments, sitting still, loud settings where she cannot think, most men (though she is heterosexual), being emotionally attached to anything, and clutter.
Fatal flaw: her incessant need to plan everything out
History
Claimed?: Yes
Camp experience: Eight years
Mortal parent: Kevin Pearce
Other relatives: An older brother, Jack (not a demigod)
History: Kevin Pearce was in a happy relationship with his wife, Lenora. She ended up getting cancer and passing away, leaving him with their son Jack. She passed when Jack was 3 years old. The death took a toll on the man and it was a while before he managed to pull himself from the shock of the situation. After he did, he met up with someone who was very intriguing. Kevin was a war buff, someone who was obsessed with knowing everything about wars and whatnot, so he was immediately attracted to the woman. What was supposed to be a one night stand ended up being a 'oh, here's your daughter' as he was left with a little fuzzy bundle of black hair.
Gwendolyn Linnea Pearce was the name the girl recieved; Jack called her Gwenny from the start. He was really interested in the tiny creature that was his little sister, though Kevin wasn't as excited. He'd already tried to raise one child on his own (and Jack wasn't that bad), but he had more help nurturing the baby. Gwen's father was forced to quit his job to stay home and take care of the child who was already becoming more and more of a burden.
Due to stomach sensitivity, Gwen was a colicky baby that always seemed to be crying. Jack was the only one that could get her to be quiet, though the reasons as to why were unbeknownst to all. It was probably his gentle nature and the way he made sure to give her attention. Whatever the case, the two bonded from the start.
Before too long, Gwen turned into a small child that was just a little off. She was never very social and always seemed to hide behind her big brother whenever possible. She never really talked, though when she did it was clear that she was something of a sponge. Her linguistic skills seemed to be advanced for a small child, but most of the doctors said it was perfectly normal.
Kindergarten brought on a slew of challenges for the eerie little girl, though she quickly decided she was disinterested in having any friends. All of the kids thought she was weird because she didn't want to play, and those that preferred to look at books didn't seem to like the way she refused to share. This caused a plethora of disciplinary issues with the child but she progressed through school as all the other kids.
She continued to refuse to have any real friends, though she maintained a strong relationship with Jack. He was the one who convinced her to get at least a few friends. Reluctantly compliant, she set out to find someone who she could stand. It was hard making friends with the kids who had known her for years so she gradually began to grow closer to the new kids. Finally, a couple came along, and they were great friends. She began to find a crowd where she was more welcome, though she still didn't feel like she fit in.
People seemed to enjoy her company despite her bitter attitude, but she slowly rose through the middle school ranks to being the top dog. Eventually people began to actually notice her, but soon after she was walking home from school and essentially kidnapped by one of her 'friends', who was actually a satyr.
Needless to say, the daughter of Athena wasn't very pleased with this 'friend' as she was hauled off to somewhere she didn't even know existed. Though she'd never really cared for her father, she was scared to be away from Jack for too long. She also didn't like being forced to cooperate with other campers.
Long story short, she got to camp, became a sort of recluse, though she made numerous alliances due to her mental and physical prowess. It was hard for most to get her trust, but once they did, some actually took a liking to her. She's never had a boyfriend and she really still thinks boys are disgusting.
