Basics
Full name: Oliver James Woodcock
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Divine Parent: Harmonia
Powers: Pathokinesis (the ability to feel and manipulate (to some extent, with permission) the feelings of others around him), an enhanced sense of harmony
PersonalityOn the outside, Oliver is a very diplomatic and stiff individual. He is polite and amiable, though it is usually just for the sake of other people’s enjoyment. He’s a great conversationalist and quite the charmer when he needs to be, though all of this is to hide his physical limitation. One notices that Oliver refuses to make eye contact and tends to move slowly and deliberately, making him act like a bit of a tortoise. Oliver is blind, see, and is very conscious of that fact. He likes to hide it for as long as he can. Once someone figures it out, he becomes an entirely different being.Ollie is a kind-hearted, emotionally aware person. He doesn't care for stiffness at all. He is a very fluid being who is prone to things like mood swings, mostly stemming from frustration. He doesn't feel he is equipped to have the burdens he feels he does and grossly underestimates himself, making him a generally insecure person who likes to be molded into something someone actually desires. Whatever makes them happy makes him happy (at least, he likes to think so). When wronged, Oliver is extremely forgiving and tries not to hold grudges against anyone. He's a giant softie who loves to listen to those who need some emotional guidance so they can find their inner harmony. The worst things about Oliver are his tendencies to be a little too soon to start giving people advice, though he does know what he's talking about. He takes up the role as a really young therapist when it comes to talking to other campers and this in itself is a cause for his frustration. He also gets frustrated when he is denied something he so desperately wants, such as time for himself to drink tea and be away from everyone else's drama. Oliver is an introvert who has a hard time keeping to himself due to his compulsion to help other people with their problems.Oliver Woodcock is a very peculiar person. The one thing he has always craved is balance and harmony, two things that can be very hard to come by in modern society. Because of this, the prevailing trait that Oliver possesses is that of anxiety; he is prone to worrying about anything and everything, worrying about himself, about others, and about things in general. Because of his abnormal ability to feel how others are feeling, he can get a little overboard when it comes to caring about others and always trying to make them happy. He is ultimately a people-pleasing worry-wart, but that in itself is a drastic simplification that takes away from all of the interesting traits Oliver possesses but tends not to show.
Likes: Tea, pianos, friendly chatter, emotionless people, baked goods, horses, fuzzy things, soft hair, people who smell faintly of roses, those who don't let him interfere with their business, and dancing.
Dislikes: Coffee, trumpets, idiots and jerks, those who are melodramatic, stale crackers, sandpaper, facial hair, ragged clothes, being blind, his past, playing for others, nasty smells, people who mess with his business.
Fatal flaw: Oliver is gullible and very easy manipulated in most situations. He usually refuses to hate people as well, lest they really deserve it.
History
Claimed?: Yes, eight years.
Camp experience: Eight years
Mortal parent: James Woodcock
Other relatives: Aunt, Stephanie; Uncle, Jonathan.History: James Woodcock was a British diplomat that set out to compromise and help the land of the Brits get along with others, bringing harmony to the land. Therefore it only made sense that Harmonia set her eye on him. James was an admirable man who traveled about the world so it was rare he had anything other than a one night stand. Luckily for baby Ollie, Harmonia was smart enough to pop a hole in a condom. Yes, her spawn would rule the earth. Oliver would be an asset James never saw coming.Sure enough, he didn't see it coming. He was actually quite peeved at the announcement that he was to be a father. It meant he had to settle down and take time out of his day, his life, to raise a child. Regardless of his attitude, he did what he felt morally obligated to do. He stayed with Oliver until the boy was five years old, which was the time James chose to abandon him with his older brother, Jonathan. Jonathan's wife, Stephanie, was a very kind and plump woman who made excellent tea and delectable scones. At first Oliver enjoyed living there, until the relationship between Jonathan and Stephanie began to get tense. Despite how much the boy wanted to feel comfortable, he just couldn't. He was constantly feeling tense himself, so much so that he started faltering in school. By the time he was eight and stressed beyond belief, the boy found himself moving out of the household of Stephanie and Jonathan and into one of just Jonathan.Stephanie was the one that had made Jonathan a bearable person. Once she was gone, Oliver was restricted and forced to take piano lessons and become a 'right proper young man that would make his father proud'. Having had a relatively traumatic childhood given the extreme amounts of stress he'd been allowed as a child had made Oliver an insecure child that didn't feel he had a place in the world. The feeling was one that no eight year old should have harbored. That being said, the piano was a brilliant vent for Oliver. He was able to create songs that had tones of lightness and darkness, happiness and sad, and began to craft brilliant harmonies that blended together better than smoothies. Jonathan was pleased with the boy's progress and sent him off to a school for the musically gifted in the United States; there he would be out of his hair and able to flourish into the bright star he could be. Oliver didn't take the move very well and was honestly quite depressed due to the feelings around him. The younger children were happy and excited, whereas the older students were stiff and condescending. Their feelings of hatred really got to Ollie who began to hide form his lessons and play by himself. He failed schooling and was essentially disowned by his uncle and father, though they were willing to contact an adoption agency that was willing to give the child a shot.Oliver hated his life and all of the people in it. All they'd done was let him down. The feeling of his own hatred was so powerful that he learned to forgive those who wronged him, mostly because he couldn't have lived with having such intense emotion of his own at such a young age. When he was ten years old he began to discover his ability to manipulate the feelings of others, which was what clued others in to his bloodline. He was hunted down by a monster and struck in the back of the head, only to wake up blind and in a foreign bed. He'd been taken to Camp Half Blood by the person who had been fetching him, though he never had any experience with them on a personal level. The boy was again in a foreign place and now he was entirely blind, though he was very familiar with the feelings of everyone else. The piano became his best friend, though he only played it in times of great stress and when he could be sure he was alone. He tried to his his gift as best he could because he was afraid that it might again be overestimated and cause him infinite grief.
