WANT TO KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THE SITE...?
DO I NEED TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE PERCY JACKSON SERIES TO JOIN? You don't need to know the series inside out. You don't even need to have read the books at all, so long as you know, at least to a certain extent, how Camp Half Blood works, as well as how demigods work. Though the film isn't entirely accurate to the series (in fact, it's way off) just watching it can start to give you a better understanding of demigods etc. You also don't need to know the adventures of Percy Jackson, however, since this is an AU board. If you want to know more about Camp Half Blood, just PM a member of staff and they'll get back to you when they can.
WHEN CAN I MAKE A CHILD OF THE "BIG THREE"? Usually, we prefer it after you have made one active character prior to having a child of the Big Three. This character can be of any cabin except for Zeus, Poseidon or Hades. When you have made an character who is active on the site, you can make a character application for that of a Big Three without trouble. Sometimes we do make exceptions, so if you're desperate to make a child of the Big Three, PM a member of staff and we'll see what we can do.
I WANT MY CHARACTER TO BE A CABIN LEADER, HOW CAN I MAKE IT SO? If you want to apply to be cabin leader, you need to post on this thread. The thread itself answers more questions about the role. To summarize it here, however, it's more likely that your character will become cabin leader if they are older/more experienced A fourteen year old who just turned up at camp is less likely to be cabin leader than a seventeen year old who's been there for five years. You can also only have one cabin leader per member. The rest is explained there.
DO I NEED TO KNOW MUCH ABOUT GREEK MYTHOLOGY? You don't really, no. Again, it's more about knowing the gist of it and being realistic about it. Though it may help to know everything in the world about Athena before making a demigod in her cabin, it doesn't directly influence your character and so it isn't actually necessary. Again, though it would be good for you to know of the gods, this tends to be something learned along the way. So if you don't know anything about Greek mythology, then it's no problem at all.
HOW OLD IS MY CAMPER ALLOWED TO BE? If you want them to be an actual camper, the oldest they can be is 21. Anything older than this (up to 28 years old) and they can still be accepted, though they will be classified as camp staff. The youngest age is 13. This is mostly because of Proboards guidelines, in which playbys under the age of 13 are not allowed to be used. If you're planning on making a Hunter of Artemis, or a Lotus Casino victim, they can be any age technically, so long as the age they look like is within the bracket of 13 and 21 (for a Hunter) and 13 and 28 (for a camper or staff).
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY APP TO BE ACCEPTED? Usually not long at all. If there is a problem, the staff will send you a PM and will wait on your consequent edits and response in order to accept the app. However, typically, it doesn't take long before the staff can review and accept your app.
