Aphrodite
Member name: Suzie
Other character(s): Amy, Cori, Danny, Dusntan and Jareth.
Activity level: Erry day, basically.
Roleplay experience:Ooh yikes, it’s been about... 6 years online but about 13 in RL with my friends, haha.
Roleplay sample:There wasn’t any easy explanation for how Constance was feeling at this moment. It wasn’t as If she could find the perfect words or famous quote to sum it all up. The emotions were a series of memories, smells, colors and temperatures. The sound of their heart beats was deafening and Constance could barely hear over the deep breathing and rustling of cloth as they pulled each other closer together. The blood was pounding in her ears as they kissed, and she relished in the feel of his playing with her hair.
The hair on his face brushed against her chin and upper lips, but she didn’t mind. It was soft and suited him so well. It reminded her, in the moment, how grown up they were from the last time they had done this. Though, that kiss wasn’t nearly as heart pumping.
She took a moment to think back to that moment, as they still kissed in the present. It was two weeks before the end of term, before they graduated, before they wouldn’t see each other in the common room every day. The thought of leaving Robs side, even for a moment, distressed Constance in those last days. She had just started to give him a chance a few short months previously, and they had barely spent any time together with just the two of them.
Constance was sneaky back then, to say the least, and made it a point to kiss Rob at least once before graduation. She could never find time alone with him, however. What with studying, Rachel and Quidditch goodbye parties. It was at one of those said parties when she finally pulled it off. The Quidditch team had gone to the three broomsticks for the last time, and sat together at a large table. Constance sat beside Rob, and they held hands under the table for most of the get together.
The team was close, closer than ever now that most of them were leaving. Constance was afraid they would notice them leaving, but she took a chance anyway. She gave Robs hand a tight squeeze before letting go. She stood up slowly and left the table, taking a glance back to see if he had got the picture. He looked at her with a quizzical brow, so she beckoned him forward with one finger. She made her way outside and turned the corner down a tiny little alley beside the pub. After a few moments Rob followed, and without a word she had grabbed the front of his shirt and kissed him.
Rob was so sweet and confused in that moment, and now he was even sweeter, and kinder than Constance ever thought she’d be lucky enough to find. She was a little shocked when he broke the current kiss in order to explain why he chose to live for her. She listened until his confession was finished and then placed a hand on his scruffy cheek, ”it’s hard for me to believe, that I could be that important to someone, but I believe you,” she said, ”I know that you would never lie to me, Rob. I only wish I could... be as trusting and as loving as you are.” She removed her hand form his cheek and the other from his neck, placing them both in her lap. ”You keep my safe. Every day when... when my darker side tries to overcome me, I think about you and all of that goes away. I know without me you’d be an empty shell, but without you...” she shuddered at the thought, ”I’d be a monster.”
When Rob kissed her a third time, she became so enveloped in it that she didn’t even notice him conjure the flowers behind her back. As he offered them to her she laughed, ”Rob, they’re beautiful. But I can’t exactly take a bouquet into my meeting.” She laughed again as she leaned toward the flowers to smell them, while wrapping her hand around his hand that was holding the flowers. ”Maybe we should go on an actual date. Then you can bring the flowers.” She spoke happily and with a light tone. Rarely did she receive flowers, considering she dated mostly jerks in her past, and the gesture just reminded her once more of the lucky situation she was in.
God's name: Aphrodite
Gender: female
Role: Beauty, love, lust, desire, sexuality, and pleasure.
Playby:Primarily Katy Perry, but her appearance can change.
Personality: Aphrodite is temperamental and vain. Her emotions are very fragile, for she believes everyone should always express their true feelings toward any situation. Her vainness comes into play with her choice of boyfriends and her love games for her children. Often she throws wrenches into their relationships, deeming it is much more classic and tragic than a normal well to do love affair. She loves the drama, she craves it and she causes it as much as possible.
This Goddess is incredible flirtatious, and her image changes according the eye of the beholder to suit their vision of beauty. Her flirty personality is often passed down to her children, and she loves them for it. Even though she can be flirty, seductive and manipulative she believes love to be the most important of the things she stands for. Yes, she likes tragedy, but she also loves when things work out in the end. There is nothing better to her than a good story, and that comes with a good ending.
Aphrodite can also be sweet, almost too sweet, especially when faced with conflict. She will start out being sickenely sweet but if you push her far enough her temper will show and she will be cruel and callous. If she favors you, however, she is very gentle and compassionate.
The wrath of Aphrodite is harsh, and she punishes those who disrespect her, have a poor understanding of love, or don’t even care for love at all. She once punished a young girl who refused to find a man to fall in love with her own father. There isn’t anything much crueler than that. Though, she was merciful to the girl, for she loved without fear.
History:
Birth and Cause For Living
Aphrodite was born from the foam of the sea where Ouranos remains were thrown. Many people forget that she is indeed one of the eldest Gods, like Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. This has caused many of her fellow Olympians, and even more Demi-Gods to not take her seriously, and occasionally disrespect her calling her a minor god or a worthless cause. Many still refer to her that way, which her cause is pointless in the modern world. But she still fights for it. Yes, the lust and desire still reign strong in the world but people are forgetting her primary reason for existence, love.
Marriage and Affairs
Many of the Olympians wanted to take Aphrodite for themselves as a wife, including Zeus. She was eventually given to Hephaestus, on Zeus’s orders. Aphrodite often thought that was Zeus’s coop pout way of making sure no one fought over her, by marrying her off to his hideous son. She always resented the marriage, and still does, often cheating on her husband with Ares who proved to be much more passionate and handsome. Hephaestus often humiliates the two with traps set with cameras in order to broadcast their affair on Olympus. Aphrodite and Ares have learned where most of these traps are, but still stumble onto them occasionally.
Children, God and Demi-God
Aphrodite has given birth more than any other goddess among the Olympians. Born to Ares, were five minor Gods Anteros, Deimos, Eros, Harmonia and Phobos. She often has affairs with many other Gods as well as humans. Her Demi-God children are known to have powerful powers of persuasion, they can sense the desires of others, they speak fluent French and some can even change their appearance at will. Many of her children are deemed silly and useless, and Aphrodite often punishes those who say that sort of thing about her children.
Troy
Aphrodite was the famous Goddess of the Trojan War, all over a silly Gold Apple and the title of fairest of them all between herself, Hera and Athena. When Paris was brought to decide, each Goddess offered him a gift, where Aphrodite offered him Helen. This started the ten year war that led to the fall of Troy, causing many gods to be upset with her. Aphrodite didn’t care, however, she received the title against her fellow Olympians and had successfully created the most tragic, horrible, passionate and dramatic love story in the history of the world. She still looks back on those days and smiles, proud of her work.
Now
These days Aphrodite does a lot of communicating with her children, for a mothers love is very strong and she knows this. She also cares very much for their fathers, but doesn’t communicate with them often because she knows of the heartache it would cause them and, frankly, she forgets about most of them. She spends most of her time stirring up trouble at camp with love and lust, giggling about her exploits, sleeping around with Ares and other mortals and showing up at the most inopportune times to give really unhelpful advice. At least, most people think it’s unhelpful, she thinks its brilliant and inspired.
