General personality:

     Clara is a very mature and disciplined girl for her age. She has a position of power in the Demeter cabin due to her age which she takes very seriously and acts as guardian of the younger children in the cabin. Clara was inspired into the position by the role her older brother played in her life and wished to have that kind of relationship with her younger half-siblings. She had been surrounded by loving siblings all her life and their presence had a huge impact on her life. She had always been known as the little sister of the Elric brothers in school and as a result, no one dared messing with her. Clara hopes that her reputation will deter bullies away from her siblings. It is very important to her that she acts like a good role model to the younger children so she always puts on a very responsible and respectful front. Her father had always taught her lessons about respect and civility which she usually passes on to the younger generation. Many of the demigods who come to camp come from a broken home and Clara is the one who tries her hardest to fill the gap that most kids are missing in their lives. She has been known to take in children from other cabins not just Demeter kids.

    When it comes to the little ducklings that Clara takes under her wings, she will do virtually anything to keep them safe and happy. Her protective streak is usually compared to that of a mother bear and anyone who falls in the ‘family’ category is under her protection. Clara is more of the mediator type than a fighter but she is never one to shy away from a fight. Her bark is usually worse than her bite though. Clara’s sword work and archery skills are rather abysmal but her hand-to-hand combat skills are nothing to scoff at.

    Beyond her status at Demeter cabin; Clara is a headstrong woman and very persistent when it comes to matter that are important to her. She is never one who gives in very easily which makes her a ridiculous competitive person. Nothing makes Clara happier than a good challenge and together with her hard working nature, she can make for some very interesting rival. She gets positively ruthless in a game of any sort and is unashamedly ambitious. Her stubbornness also serves it well when it comes to people. She never likes giving up one someone and is always the last person to give up hope. With the amount of demigods in camp with tragic pasts, Clara is always willing to look past a person's first defenses and lend a helping hand to those in need.

    As much as Clara has a bleeding heart, she is rather terrible when it comes to her own feelings. She could listen and talk out someone else's problem but her own feelings are a rather chaotic mess. Clara's coping strategy is repression and focusing on everyone else rather than herself. As a result, she suffers from frequent nightmares and commonly relives her past mistakes and frets over what should have done differently.

    Being the daughter of a farmer and the Goddess Demeter, Clara is really into the whole green peace scene. She is a vegetarian ever since she saw her childhood mortal friend ripped to pieces by Lamia and gets physically sick at the sight of monsters eating meat. Trees and plants are like friends to her and she hates seeing someone disrespect either of them. In her spare time, when she isn't at camp or working the farm fields with her family Clara is usually off volunteering by planting trees or cleaning up the environment.

History:
    Peter Elric was a man who had it all. He had inherited his father’s farm at the age of nineteen, married the woman of his dreams a few years later, and had four sons with her. He worked on the farm all his life with the help of his family and instilled a deep sense of morals in all of his children. His boys were the light of his life, but Peter secretly was wishing for a little girl to complete his family. Unfortunately, Irene (Peter’s wife) was discouraged from having any more children after her last son’s difficult birth. Peter talked over some possibilities with his wife, and the two were on the verge of adopting when the Goddess Demeter came to Pete and offered the couple an alternative.

    Nine months later, Demeter delivered a daughter to the Elric household. The entire family was completely taken by the baby girl and agreed to name her Clara. She fit seamlessly into the family despite her demigod status. She flourished under the love and care of her family. Her brothers acted like mother hens when it came to their little sister, Irene dotted on Clara the way a mother only could on her daughter, and Peter was thrilled at the prospect at finally having a daughter. Clara loved her life on the farm with her family, her affinity with plant life made harvest season a breeze for the family and the Elric farm became one of the most successful in the county. Clara’s summers were spent running the farm with her elder brothers and aging father. She was made the unofficial head of the garden and with the help of her demigod powers, made the garden grow at an extraordinary rate.

    Clara’s school life was spent at a single school in the small town she lived. The school housed students from preschool to high school so most of the student stayed together with their year for their entire school career. Clara met her best friend Eleanor on the first day of school together. The two of them were attached at the hip from the moment Clara saw Eleanor head butt a boy into unconsciousness for making fun of her single mother. The two girls shared a love for the oldies, and Clara’s mother authentic Italian pizza. Their friendship was brought to a very abrupt end on a cloudy night when Eleanor was killed by a stray Lamia pack. Clara would have joined her friend in death, if it were not for a brave satyr and demigod who jumped in to save her. They brought her to Camp Half-Blood shortly after the incident. With tears still fresh on her face, Clara crossed into the camp borders and was almost immediately claimed by her mother Demeter.

    Life at Camp Half Blood was difficult for Clara at first. After the shock of being a demigod wore off, she became incredibly home sick and stayed in the Demeter cabin for the first few weeks at camp to adjust. She eventually grew out of her shell as she started making friends with her half-siblings in the cabin. Clara quickly became queen of the strawberry fields and spent most of her time at camp helping the satyrs box and ship strawberries for the camp’s cover as a strawberry farm. Despite the fun she had at camp, Clara was eternally grateful to go back to her family at the end of the summer.

    In Clara’s fifteenth summer she was chosen along with several other demigods to go on a quest. The quest required the trio of demigods to journey to the Underworld where Clara ran into an unexpected relative. Persephone quickly became attached to her red haired half-sister and the two of them spent hours in Hades’ realm just chatting and getting to know each other. Ever since that quest, the two of them have been very close and Persephone has even visited Clara’s family farm in the spring.
